tiptoeing through the dandelions

Every so often children remind us how interesting our world really is. Their fascination with even the smallest stuff makes us pause and appreciate the little things. Today it was the dandelions. Yes, we're talking about a weed here, but that didn't matter in the least to Vincent. He was in heaven just walking around, picking the dandelions, squishing them with his fingers, giving them to us, waving them around.

Then there is the little hill you see in the pics. Who knew running up and down could be so much fun? He's also getting to be quite a tough little man, taking a few tumbles down that hill without so much as a whimper. Well, except when he saw the dirt on his hands. Silly boy.

He's also getting to be quite the expert on the slide. I'm sure he could have perfected this sooner, but we do live in Seattle and parks really aren't that much fun in the rain.

On the platform of this particular slide was a clock. Not a working clock, but one the kids can change with the turn of a nob. Again, endlessly entertaining to a 20 month old. I even managed to get him to say "clock" over and over. Well no, that is a lie. He actually can't quite say clock. I'm sure you can probably guess ... he says "cock". And I'm pretty sure it's now is favorite word. That should make for some interesting conversations down the road.

Izzy was doing the same thing in our yard yesterday! It was super cute. I love it when little kids make weeds into boquets of love!
