olympic game farm

There is an interesting place in Sequim that we decided to visit while Chris was home for the week. It's called Olympic Game Farm. They have bears (many of which use to be in the circus and they'll do tricks for you), buffalo, dear, zebras, llama, elk, yaks, and various other animals.

The draw to this particular farm is that the animals are in wide open spaces and you drive through. The owners also allow you to feed many of the animals bread. The animals are quite use to it (many expect you to feed them) so they will walk right up to your window and wait for the bread. You have to be careful though because they aren't shy in the least and some, I'm sure, will stick their heads right into your car if you leave the windows down. The dear surrounded the car and ran anong side us for quite a ways. The zebras crossed a small field to get to us. The llama walked right up and practically pressed their noses to the windows. We didn't stop long enough to see what the elk or buffalo would do! They are HUGE!

This wasn't so exciting for Colin who slept through most of it, and we're not sure whether Vin liked it or just wasn't sure what to think. He did seem to like the bears and their tricks though.

To get there we had to take the ferry, so Colin got to take his first ferry ride at one week of age.
