Vincent has been so happy lately. I'm currently contributing it to our commitment to making sure he gets regular naps in during the day. He was staying up all day for a while there, which I thought would help him sleep though the night. Oddly enough, it made our nights even worse. I think it's because he would be absolutely exhausted by the time we tried to put him down at night. Oh, all the fun things we eventually learn as new parents!!! Only poor little Vincent has to tolerate our sometimes slow learning curve.
Nights are getting better. I'm just happy that he sleeps in 3.5-4 hour increments, and sometimes up to 6. It seems to be getting longer by the week (knock on wood!)
We're talking about moving him to the crib soon, but I need to work on a better breastfeeding set up in his room so that the night feedings will be as easy as they are now (it's one of the nice things about sleeping with your baby -- you don't have to get up to nurse in the middle of the night and you both barely have to wake up). But, I think it's to the point where he is waking more because I'm there. I don't know if it's the smell of the milk that wakes him, or just wanting to cuddle up, but I'm hoping that the crib will help him sleep longer. Again, poor little Vincent will have to bare with us as we figure out this next stage! Wish us luck.
