It's 39 weeks and 3 days and we were hoping baby would have arrived by now, but no such luck! I thought for sure I was in labor Saturday night, but as soon as the contractions were every 3 minutes and I called the hospital they slowed down and eventually stopped. What a bummer!! At least it got us to do a bunch of laundry and finish packing the bag for the hospital ... not to mention getting the car seat installed!My hormones are all over the place (crying for no reason is so much fun!) However, the doc says baby still hasn't dropped, I'm still not dilated, and based on the 40 cm my belly now measures the docs best guess is that our chunky monkey is about 9 lbs already. SCARY! There isn't much room left in there!! Yes, all this concerns the doc as well and the chances of a c-section are going up. I have another u/s scheduled for Tuesday (the day after he's due) to see if we can get a more accurate reading on baby's weight. I assume at that point the doc will let us know what our options are (I think he was trying not to worry me with too many details today). But last he told us he wasn't planning on letting this pregnancy go a full week past the due date (because of the gestational diabetes). I never thought I'd say this, but I'm really hoping that a c-section isn't necessary ... but as long as baby is healthy and arrives safely, I guess I really can't complain.
